BACHELOR OF ARTS - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Professional Development is offered in both the classroom lecture and distance-learning modes. Professors who teach in the distance-learning mode are the same as those who teach in the classroom. The degree provides a required core of general education courses as well as a broad-based interdisciplinary curriculum that enables the student to select courses that meet his/her own personal development needs. The degree is an interdisciplinary, non-specialized program designed for the mature student.

The Bachelor of Arts in Professional Development prepares students for job opportunities such as general business, human resources, business communications and project management and will complement current or previous job experiences. Students have the freedom to emphasize courses that meet their own specific needs.

BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION - ACCOUNTING

The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Accounting prepares students for careers in public accounting, private industry, financial institutions, governmental agencies and other not-for profit entities. The degree program provides the student with both a general education background and an intensive major in accounting. The program places a strong emphasis on problem-solving skill development needed to effectively manage challenges presented by a rapidly changing and complex environment. The program will help further prepare students for the national certified public accountancy exam. Career specialty areas include financial reporting, audit, management, tax, and public accounting for government and non-profit corporations and small businesses.

BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION -GENERAL BUSINESS

The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in General Business shares a common core of business program requirements while providing maximum flexibility in designing a program of study to meet students’ desires and career goals. In selecting a major concentration, students may further prepare for careers in small business or domestic and international corporations with expertise in areas such as finance, management, information systems, or marketing to effectively manage challenges presented by contemporary, complex, business environments. The degree prepares students for a career in Management, Marketing, and Finance. The General Business degree is widely recognized by many corporations as the most versatile of the various degree plans. Career opportunities include business administrator, manager, human resources professional, and financial analyst. This degree is available through classroom lecture and by distance learning.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Information Systems and Technology is offered in both the classroom lecture and distance- learning modes. Professors who teach in the distance-learning mode are the same as those who teach in the classroom. The degree provides a required core of general education and business courses as well as courses acquainting the student with the basic systems of information in organizations and how information is collected, processed, and utilized for organizational success. Employment opportunities include positions within a company in the Information Technology department(s) as Manager of Information Systems, or careers in data management, software assurance system security, technical support, or telecom management.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Management is offered in both the classroom lecture and distance-learning modes. The BBA degree in Management is designed to educate students to a fuller understanding of the business profession and to prepare them to take their places as managers in the business community. The degree should enable students to better understand the importance of the individual to the corporation and the relationships among management, employees, customers, suppliers, stockholders, and the public. The degree will prepare students for careers that require analyzing situations and opportunities, setting objectives, organizing, leading and motivating others, and evaluating performance. Examples of career opportunities include financial services, economics, personnel/human resources, sales and marketing.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE - APPLIED STUDIES IN MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Applied Studies in Management Technology is available to community college transfer students who have completed a block of twenty-one (21) semester hours in a designated technical field. Computer Science, Engineering, and Health related fields are examples of the technical fields most frequently transferred. Students must complete twenty-seven (27) semester hours of Business Administration courses at Amberton University at the 3000-4000 levels. This degree enables students to combine a concentration of lower-level technical course-work with the upper-level university credits in business administration courses resulting in an application oriented degree program. The degree will prepare students for careers in management in many fields. The technically based students can enhance their current experience with management skills to advance in specialty fields such as Engineering, Computer, and Health Sciences fields.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE -HUMAN RELATIONS AND BUSINESS

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Human Relations and Business is offered in both the classroom lecture and distance-learning modes. Professors who teach in the distance-learning mode are the same as those who teach in the classroom. The degree provides a required core of general education courses as well as a broad-based interdisciplinary curriculum that includes business, communication, human behavior and development, human resources and training, and psychology. Graduates will be prepared to fulfill roles that require an understanding of the interface between business principles and human relations skills in public and private settings. Graduates should be able to enhance their previous career experiences. Healthcare, communications, and human resources are a few examples of career options.
