Our Philosophy

Amberton University’s philosophy is to provide an affordable, quality education with reasonable costs enabling students to “pay as they go” and not incur long-term debt. In keeping with this philosophy, all tuition and fees are due and payable at the time of enrollment. However, the University does provide convenient payment options for students, which includes Title IV financial aid, private education loans and payment deferrals.

Tuition & Specific Use Fees

The 2023 – 2024 academic year tuition rate is $ 300.00* per credit hour, or $ 900.00* per course. This rate applies to undergraduate, graduate, in-state and out-of-state students, as well as lecture and distance-learning courses. Tuition is refundable based upon the Refund Policy and Schedule.

Payment Deferral

During the online registration process, students in good standing can select to defer payment by selecting one of four payment deferral options (Title IV, Private Education Loans, Personal Payments and Company Reimbursement). If a student needs to change their deferment options or request to defer payment due to an account restriction, students can complete the Payment Deferral Application/Agreement and return the form by fax (972-279-9773), mail or email (BusOffice@Amberton.edu).

Payment Options

Payments can be submitted to the University in the form of cash, checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, and credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, and Discover Card). Payments can be mailed, presented at the Student Services Offices in Garland and Frisco, and faxed. Credit/debit card payments can also be made online through the Student Portal.

Tuition Refund Policy

Tuition Refund Policy

A student who officially drops a class during the first week of the regular ten-week session will be entitled to a full refund of tuition. A student who drops during subsequent weeks will be refunded at the following rates:

  • WEEK 2 – 80%
  • WEEK 3 – 60%
  • WEEK 4 – 40%
  • WEEK 5 – 20%

After The Fifth Week, No Refund Is Due.

Employer Tuition Assistance

Many employers provide tuition assistance for their employees. Students should explore their options by contacting their employer’s Human Resources Benefits Department.

Military and Veterans Benefits

Amberton University is approved to participate in the various tuition assistance programs provided by the Department of Defense and each branch of the military. Amberton University is also approved to administer the Veteran’s Education Benefits Program. Prior to enrolling, please contact your Education Services Officeer (ESO) or a counselor within your military service for more information and approval.

 

Title IV Financial Aid

Pell Grants
Amberton University is certified under Title IV to participate in the Pell Grant program for all undergraduate degree programs.

Direct Loans
Amberton University is certified under Title IV to participate in the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program for all undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

Private Student Loans

While the University participates in Federal educational loan programs, we realize that unforeseen financial circumstances occur that may temporarily disrupt students’ Federal educational benefits. For this reason, Amberton University has agreement(s) with loan providers who offer private loans for educational expenses. These loans are not federally-funded and are designed to assist approved students with the payment of tuition, fees, and textbooks. They are not designed to provide income for day-to-day living expenses normally covered by the working adult’s employment income. Sallie Mae® Student Loans®
The Sallie Mae® Student Loans® is are private, credit-based, school-certified student loans for student borrowers enrolled full time, half time, or less than half time. With these loans, qualified students may be eligible to borrow up to the full cost of their education as certified by the University.
