"...the more knowledge we possess the more successful we will be in life..."

My Unique Approach to Education

I have had a passion for learning my whole life and feel strongly that the more knowledge we possess the more successful we will be in life but also the more impact we can have on others. In the subject of history I especially believe that learning through the stories, challenges, and circumstances of others can help us to better understand the world we live in. My hope as an instructor is to provide a glimpse of these stories so that students can use lessons from history to make better and more educated decisions in their own life, better preparing them for the future work that God has called them to do.

Biography

Born in Louisiana, I moved to Florida as a child and grew up there until after high school. I attended Abilene Christian University, and believe my education and experiences there helped shape me into the person I have become today. I ended up studying history after meeting a history professor who would end up being my mentor.I also met wonderful friends there as well as my husband. We were married right after college.

I attended graduate school at UT Arlington and then UNT. During my studies I got my first experience teaching, then later held professional positions at museums, libraries, and in education. When my first child was born, I decided to focus on teaching and taking care of my family. I am blessed to have two precious daughters and the opportunity to continue to teach history for Amberton University.
