The Amberton University Library is accepting applications for a Part-Time Library Assistant at our main Garland campus.  The Library Assistant is responsible for providing reference services and instruction in the use of online computer databases, print and digital books, and other library resources.  They also assist in maintaining and developing the overall library collection, and other projects as needed.

Library Assistants are critical members of the Library staff, and attention to Library and University policies and procedures is essential.  This is a service-based position to students and faculty, and some day, evening and weekend work hours are expected.  Training on databases and resources will be provided.


Degree in Library Science preferred or relevant academic library experience; effective communication and computer skills; familiarity with print and non-print research resources; adaptability, flexibility, and ability to work with adult students, faculty and staff.

Working Conditions:

Part-time position; will include usual office conditions with day, evening, and/or weekend work as needed to meet University needs.  Approximately 10-20 hours per week
